In a life of multiple pursuits Dr Ejaz Ahmad has maintained academic excellence above all else not just as a professor but also a thought leader for his students. He is currently the Professor of Statistics and Dean of the Faculty of Math and Science at Brock University, Canada with former stints at renowned universities in Canada as well as international adjunct professorship positions. Dr. Ejaz Ahmad also served on the Board of Directors of the Statistical Society of Canada, and was also Chairman of its Education Committee.
Amongst his many achievements, Dr Ejaz Ahmad has an international academic career, he is a Fellow of Royal Statistical society and an elected member of International Statistical Institute. Moreover he is also Vice President of Communications for The International Society for Business and Industrial Statistics (ISBIS). Recently, he was awarded the ASEAN Chair Professorship, at Thammasat University, Thailand.
For his Pakistani community Dr. Ejaz Ahmad has supervised 4 Ph.D students as well as a few Masters students.The Islamic Society of Statistical Sciences awarded him a Gold Medal in recognition of outstanding contribution to the development and promotion statistical sciences around the globe, particularly to Muslim countries. An auditorium was named in his honour at the University of the Punjab — the largest and oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan. Dr. Ahmed has been the driving force in signing an MOU between Brock and University of Karachi, Pakistan, further solidifying the important collaboration between the universities and the two countries.
