CPBC Delegation to Pakistan called on Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Mr. Sharif. President Samir Dossal updated the CM of the current activities of CPBC and took the opportunity to highlight the success of the Pakistani diaspora in Canada. He introduced the delegates who were representing a cross-section of the industry with special emphasis on Information and Communication Technology ICT.
CM applauded the efforts of CPBC in promoting Bilateral ties. He commended CPBC for their contribution leading towards Canada Pakistan Merchandise Trade exceeding $1 Billion.
He assured the delegation of support of his government in extending facilitation to establish any projects in Pakistan.
China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, being constructed in its initial phase at a cost of $46 billion dollars, referred to as CPEC will be a game changer not just for Pakistan but for the region providing access to Trade routes. The development of this corridor he said can provide business opportunities for Canadian Companies in the field of infrastructure, power generation, service industry to name a few.
He was receptive to working with CPBC for a possible to visit Canada in the near future. He assured the delegation of his personal support as well as that of his government and was receptive to working together to visit Canada.
