In spite of the High Commission being closed due to the Christmas holidays and Quaid-i-Azam Day, she made the extra effort to meet, which was greatly appreciated.
CPBC exchanged views and updated the new HC on the role and engagement and the crucial part it plays in building bridges between Pakistan and Canada. She appreciated the various initiatives by CPBC and extended her full support in this regard.
The High Commissioner graciously accepted to speak at a CPBC event on her next visit to Canada, she will also make an effort to attend our Gala.
CPBC will lead an ICT Delegation to Pakistan in March 2019. Dates are being finalized around the LEADERS IN ISLAMABAD BUSINESS CONFERENCE.
CPBC ICT Delegation is sponsored by Global Affairs Canada; GOA is a Global Affairs Canada funding program to promote Commercial Opportunities for Canadian Businesses in International Markets.
The Canadian High Commission will be actively supporting the CPBC ICT delegation on the ground.
CPBC was pleased to note the direction and approach by the Canadian High Commissioner to reach out to various business hubs and engage in dialogue with various business and trade bodies throughout Pakistan.
CPBC will be pleased to facilitate their initiatives through their existing partnerships and MOU’s with various epic trade bodies in Pakistan.
Visa issuances has always been a concern and was a topic of discussion, CPBC and High Commission will continue to raise these issues at the appropriate government levels.
CPBC also updated the HC of the specific initiatives and projects CPBC is facilitating/ supporting, whether in infrastructure development, ICT, Power Generation and other trading opportunities.
We are appreciative that the Travel Advisory has been positively reviewed in the recent past. We are confident that it will be further reviewed to make it more realistic.
It was mutually discussed that appropriate exchanges at the highest level including the next bilateral talks is expected to further establish positive direction in bilateral relations.
Furthermore, ministerial exchanges are most essential to bring back the great relations that Canada and Pakistan have enjoyed since the creation of Pakistan. Canada has since shown support and been a great friend and an ally.
